Tagalys was a pivot from a B2C fashion discover product built in 2013. MAU or Monthly Active Users was key metric in our platform, hence ensured the products we showcased to each user on our platform matched their shopping persona. That was how the product was conceptualized. When we got feedback from users on how this was not available at most online retailers, did we start thinking of a pivot.

ABOUT FOUNDING TEAM.

Palani and Antony have been working together for about 4 years. Their backgrounds and interest, complement each other at work on everything but programming. Palini worked on programming for 95%, with the remaining to challenge business decisions of Antony. Palini was Antony’s vendor in 2012 and requested to join in later when they decided to build the fashion discovery product.

Tagalys is a configurable eCommerce personalization engine that dynamically changes products displayed to individual visitor(s) across channels like your category pages, Search Results pages, Recommendations etc., based on shopping personas, to improve visitor engagement and revenues.

We have been growing at around 20% every month and work with customers across verticals like Fashion, Jewellery, Food, Building Materials etc., A few of our customers are VelvetCase, Kaaryah, Place of Origin etc., We also have international clients via our service partners Happiest Minds and in talks with a few more leading Service Companies to aid us with international expansion

HOW HAS BEEN YOUR ASSOCIATION WITH IBM GLOBAL ENTREPRENEUR? HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THINK IBM GLOBAL ENTREPRENEUR IS TO HELP AND IMPROVE THE ECOSYSTEM?

IBM GEP is a pillar of showcasing established B2B start-ups In India. The program has been very helpful in helping start-ups gain exposure and also helping enterprises trust start-ups. We did come across any other B2B program that has tremendously helped the B2B start-ups in India.

WHAT’S YOUR TAKE ON THE IBM CLOUD? HOW IS IT HELPING YOUR START-UP GROW?

We moved to SOFTLAYER for the reasons of - High Availability, Scalability, Reliability and Total Cost of Ownership. We rely on the cloud solely for our distribution, hence working with a trusted partner was key to help us focus on innovation and not worry on the basics but essential need of global distribution.

WHAT IS YOUR ROAD AHEAD FOR YOUR START-UP?

We are working on increasing our traction by launching a light version of the product to help us scale faster and address the SMB market.
