Scrolling Text using Flash

This tutorial explains how a scrolling text can be done. Basically this movie consists of two layers. The first layer consists of the Actions you give for the movie and the second layer consists of the scrollbox.
In the actions layer insert a blank keyframe in the first kf. Double click on the kf and give the following actions.
Set Variable: "variable_name.scroll" (the string literal button should be on) = "1"(string literal button on)
Set Variable: "text" = ""(string literal button on)
Here you first set the variable for the scroll option and set it to 1.
Then you set the variable for the text. The double code left blank here is where your entire text goes.
In the second layer that is the the scrollbox layer insert a blank kf. In the second kf add an action Stop.
Draw a text field modifier on your scene depending on how big you want it to be. Right click on the text
field box. Click on Properties will take you to Text Field Properties.
Here give the variable name as "text". Click on multiline, wordwrap, and whatever options you want.
That's it with the two layers.
All you need now is to create our button and place it on that stage. One to scroll up, and one to scroll down.
SCROLL UP BUTTON
On the button that will scroll up apply the following actions to it:
Set Variable: "text.scroll" = text.scroll - 1(expression editor on)
SCROLL DOWN BUTTON
On the button that will scroll down apply the following actions to it:
Set Variable: "text.scroll" = text.scroll + 1(expression editor on)
