If you done correctly your entire primary steps for SEO with meaningful title, meta etc then you can proceed for the next step to being submit to search engines. There are various search engines with different kind of spider, crawler made up with strong algorithms, for that its not recommended to cheat them. For example “Googlebot,. It can notices if you placed some hidden keywords in to your webpage with same font color as your page color then it will marked your website as banned or spam. You can call your web as a “Deep web” (sites not indexed by search engines).
There are generally three types of submission 1) Manual Submission, 2) Automatic Submission 3) Semi Automatic
1. Manual Submission
Submitting your web pages manually in to search engines is preferable, but time taken. If you do with this process you will be more profitable to being spammed.
For example: you can submit you web pages into Google from http://www.google.com/addurl
(Note: there are may different URL for submitting your RSS or Atom Feeds web pages which is known as dynamic sites)
2. Automatic Submission
Automatic Submission is known as tool based submission to submitting bulk of search engines on a single click, but it’s not recommended. Because if you over submit your website then it may harm to be indexed. Some tools may give you super performance which may ban your website while indexing, but there some tools which is good for SEO, for example: Web CEO (Its Free), IBP, SEO Elite etc. Before going to use these tools it’s recommended to read their manual before submitting.
3. Semi automatic Submission
Various Search engines and Directory they are not taking automatic submission because for additional information that you have to provides at submission time.

Perform Keyword Research
Keyword research is crucial part for your site usability. Your site keywords and titles should be similar to your page content and links. You have to analyze most frequently searched keywords like similar to your web site. You can get some most popular search terms by visiting http://www.alexa.com, www.webtracker.com or you can get from various free services sites.
Why Keyword Research, because you might target the keyword “Sell Pearls” because that’s what your website Primary Business. But for your kind of information no one will search for “Sell Pearls” instead of “buy pearls”. Like that you have to optimize your keywords.
Page Content and File Size
The more content, the more of performance and easier for the search engine to work out that’s what the page is actually about. It’s recommended to put at least 200 words of unique content on to your web page. And keep your page size to maximum of 100 kb.
Its also recommended for best usability to not to put lots of text, so your site became to heavy that you have to scroll your page and site visitor will undoubtedly need to click else where to find more details content.
USE of CSS for Layout
Various search engines may prefer CSS based layout instead of general tabled based HTML layouts, the benefit of CSS formatting is clean code, flexibility of important content placement and grater content density. Using CSS for Layout is also highly preferred for usability. Because for class based approach which reduced HTML files size.
Use of H1 tags
Search Engines gives importance’s to WebPages having tags like <H1>, <H2>.. so on. Put <H1> tag on your top of the page and <H2>, <H3> respectively. You can also control the style of the H1 tags using CSS.
Use Text formatting
To emphasize on your keywords add bold, italic, underline on your most targeted keywords for one time each and 1 per keywords at least.
Use ALT in to your <img> tags in you images and image hyperlink or in image map by using <alt =”Quality Pearls Gifts”> wich will helps you a lot.

Page Top Left to Bottom Right
This is the crawling structure of a Search engine. From top left to bottom right. So it’s better to put heading on the top with <h1> tag and on left all your links with <h2> or <h3>. Bottom to be list of all links with right width is your page body’s content.
By doing this SE will read the top left hand row / coloumn first and it will read the body of our page and then read the 2nd lefthand row coloumn wich contains our navigational links.

- Never participate for reciprocal link exchange which is not related to your site category.
- Always use manual site submission to search engines.

Check Your Sever Uptime
Make sure your server (Web server) running 24/7. You may loss your top position if your server gets down for few hours. Monitor your server regularly using some online free monitoring software.
Watch Daily Changes
Your website may re index quickly within 48 hours, for this you have to watch yourself for your updates to wards to the site which you are updated last week, watch your update strategically consistent. For example: If I removed some keywords “Zakhas” from every pages while I did by my last week update, this things can make my site down to the position.
Mesure Your Site Traffic
Everyday you have to watch your log file and site stat, you have to inspect how many users are hitting your site, how many are unique visitor, how many pages they have visited, from which location they have came etc. From above measurement you can track your site performance and keywords they used to find out your website.
Check your page rank and site rank weekly, www.alexa.com is a website where you can view your site statistic with rank status. For page rank you can also use google.com’s toolbar for Page Rank.
Note: Google has publicly stated that they will be penalizing anyone that repeatedly uses automated reporting software to check their ranking on the engine.
(Note: Page Rank and Site Rank is Different, Site rank is the position of the web site in the internet, now Yahoo.com is in No1 position according to www.alexa.com .
Page Rank is where Search engines show you the rating of the pages means quality of the page content and unique ness through where it can show you the appropriate result. Suppose If a search engine (specially Google ) get two pages with same page rank and value of page content is same from the data base; then it will check the server quality and trust ness of the server.)
Always keep in touch with your competitors’ website for any dramatic changes they nay have made to their content. View their pages source, Meta etc. And a change in the content of their Meta tag is usually the first sign that your competitors trying to out position you.
About your content
Your every month checklist is keep your website content up to date updated. Check your all reciprocal links if you are exchanging make sure they are up to date. Always check your dead links in every month (you can also use free tools like Xenu's Link Sleuth or W3C link checker.)
Make sure that the new pages you are uploaded has correct Title, Keywords, and Description included instead of same duplicate. Many users forget these things gradually.
Check your backward link for every month, the higher quality links that point to your website can affect your search engine position. Using Google toolbar you can also view backwards links to you are visit.
These are basic things for a website owner and web master to perform. You can say this article may not valid after few months, because now a day search engines like google.com changing their algorithms for better and pure search performance.
